Being engaged in church is much more than merely attending
a weekend service.
We want to be a church that reflects the values of loving God, loving others and serving His world. In order to be that kind of church, we need the help of people who share our passion for leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you share that passion, you can fully engage in the life of the church by doing four things:
Gather, Grow, Serve and Give
"If you love me you will obey my commandments" (John 14:15)
Growing in our love for God doesn't happen when we know what Jesus says. It happens when we apply what he says. And we believe application happens best within the context of community. To grow spiritually, you have to be connected relationally. In order to do this we encourage you to connect to one of our larger weekend Worship Gatherings were you can express your love for God through worship in music, worship in testimony,
worship in the Word.
"By this all people will know that you are my disciples,
if you have love for one another.” (John 13;34)
We believe God uses relationships to change each of us for the better, and the reality is that we don't experience relationships when we're sitting in rows. When you're fully involved in the life of a church, God uses other people to help you grow, and he uses you to help grow other people. At Waipuna Chapel we encourage to connect to one of our many mid-week Life Groups were you can experience authentic Christian community and grow in love for others.
Secondly Jesus doesn't want the church to be an exclusive club. He wants everyone to know him and follow him. So we think it's vital that as we become fully engaged in church, we authentically love the unchurched people in our lives. That doesn't mean that we treat them as projects. It means that we genuinely care about them, get to know what's happening in their lives, and, when the time is right,.. Invite them to take an appropriate next step toward Jesus.
"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and so glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16)
We grow spiritually when we serve other and it fulfills the desire of Jesus that God would be glorified by those who observe that serves. Wether it is in the context of the local church, the local community,or around the world, the impact of that service change lives— not only for the people we serve but also for those who serve.
At Waipuna Chapel there are many ways that you can use your God given gifts
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Without your generosity the ministry and impact of Waipuna Chapel would not be possible.
Your financial support enables us to advance the mission of Jesus; "to seek and to save the lost" both locally and globally.
Give to the mission and vision of Waipuna Chapel
